Jamaican Spirit Tour

Hey World! ^_^

I made my way to Saint Elizabeth for the Joy Spence Appleton Estate Rum Tour recently. The tours run Monday to Saturday starting at 9:00am with the last tour at 3:00pm daily.

One thing I've learned about St Elizabeth is that the parish's evening-nightlife is really lacking. If you plan on visiting the parish, start out early so you can be in the parish by 9:00am so you may visit another destination or two. By 3:00pm they start to wind down and all the adventure spots close their doors by 4:00pm, which really kinda sucks.

Sampling the "spirit" mixes as we went along the tour :) #WeAreRumPeople

Wet Sugar
Sampling the wet sugar which is also produced at the Appleton Estate.

On my way back home, I stopped by Murray's Fish & Jerk Hut and had a cup of Mannish Water aka Goat Head Soup (which was lacking because it was really hot salt water -___-) and Jerk Chicken with Festivals

Check out the Appleton Rum Tour when next you visit the island or make a road trip to St. Elizabeth with good friends / family. The rum flowed, the tour guide was engaging and the vibe of the tour was right. What can I say but I awakened my spirit on this tour.
Go experience the tour for yourself and tell me what you think about it.

Scheduled Spontaneity

Hey World! ^_^

Can spontaneity be scheduled?
Two besties all dolled up, going to two restaurants and a bar in one night, in a few short hours with a subaru on an impromptu girls night (with the occasional 'passerby men' dwl).... sounds like fun to me!

Below are a few pics of what we ordered, tasted, loved, disliked and took home.

First stop :: Tracks & Records, Marketplace

Jerk Chicken Spring Rolls
This has been my craving for a long time. I wanted it so bad that i can't even express in words.
I love spring rolls/ egg rolls but the filling in this was delicious! It was so heavenly.
Highly recommended

 Sticky Jam Asian Wings
My bestie chose this appetizer, which she loved.
I approve of these asian wings, being the wings-obsessed-girl that i am. Delicious.
Highly recommended

Piña Colada
 Not impressive. Less than impressive.
I do blame myself however, since it was not on the menu but i requested it.
(I guess i could give 2 points for effort, for making something specially requested)

Then we headed to 'Gauchos' now renamed South Avenue Bar & Grill

Chicken & Shrimp Fettuccine Alfredo
This. Has. Always. Been. A-MAHHH-ZING!!!
Never fail me yet. A few bites of my fettuccine alfredo was savoured while the rest was taken home.
Ps* As confirmed or agreed by my friends and my sister, letting this sit in the fridge overnight and warming it the following day makes this dish even better!
Highly recommended

Mud Slide
(& my Cherry Juice in the background)
Chocolate liquor is the way to my besties heart!! Lol watching her with this was hilarious.
Next time i gotta find out a way for her to get one to go. This was CHOCOLATE-Y GOODNESS!!
Highly recommended

Scotchies Jerk

Hey World!:)

I've been crazy busy of late with school but i took a break from studying to have dinner at a cozy lil joint, Scotchies, recently because i was craving some good authentic jerk pork. Jerk foods is one of our island favourites (yes, that's how we spell favourite here). It was sooooooooo good! Yum!

The Scotchies i dined at is located on 2 Chelsea Avenue in Kingston but there are also two (2) other locations on the North Coast, in Montego Bay & Ocho Rios. I was in a hurry so i did not get a chance to take a picture of the venue but it was aesthetically pleasing, alot of greenery and wooden benches and thatch huts. The next time i visit i will ensure i take some pics to show you! :)

So i ordered the Jerk Pork with festivals

while my lil sis had Jerk Chicken.

So the next time you visit stop by and try some authentic Jamaican Jerk from Scotchies!
