Soul Food

Hey World!:)

Did you know that chicken liver is actually good for you?

Chicken livers are high in protein and a rich store of folate, which is important for fertility and helps prevent certain birth defects. Livers are also loaded with iron to give you energy and a treasure trove of certain B vitamins, most notably B12. This nutritional profile makes them a good choice for anyone prone to anaemia. Chicken livers are also one of the top sources of vitamin A, which helps eye health.

Lol i guess i say all that just so i can show you my brekkie! Twas gooooooooood!!! I'm not a fan of boiled banana (or fig as some call it) but once i have a lil callaloo to put with it, i can consume it.

My Jamaican Christmas

Hey World! :)

I hope you enjoyed the past Yuletide season as much as I did! I can't help it, but I'm a nerd for Christmas. From the decorations, the Christmas lights aka "peppa lights", the food, sorrel (my faveeeeeeeee), baking, rum cream lol, family reunions, shopping, parties, Christmas carols and all. #TisTheSeasonToBeJolly

''For a child has been born for us, a son is given to us & the #government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful #Counselor, Mighty #God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.'' ••• #Isaiah 9:6 #bible #bibleverse #scripture #Christmas #PrinceOfPeace #JesusPerson raising both hands in celebration

Steamed... Not Fried

Hey World! :)

Just sending you some dinner tonight!

Steamed Fish from Miss T’s Kitchen :: Ocho Rios, Jamaica

Blue Draws

Hey World!

“[T]he Ghanaian “kenkey” is probably the origin of the Barbadian word, conkie for the above traditional food. In Ghana, Kenkey refers to similarly prepared corn meal dishes.”

In Jamaica, this is a popular traditional food  known as Dukunu aka  Blue Draws (Blue Drawer's) aka Tie-A-Leaf !  Above it is pictured wrapped in banana leaf but when i'm making it at home, i use aluminium foil. The main ingredient is normally cornmeal, sweet potato or cassava but yam may also be used.

Jamaican Saturday Soup

Hey World! :)

Having a bowl of soup on Saturdays is a Jamaican tradition whether it is pumpkin, beef, fish, chicken or red peas soup. So i'm just sharing some of my chicken soup with you. It was soooooooo tasty and i could smell the hot pepper (but not taste it luckily, because i can't handle that kind of heat. Therefore i had no other choice but to full my bowl to the brim hahahaha #DontJudgeMe

 Enjoy! ^_^
