Scotchies Jerk

Hey World!:)

I've been crazy busy of late with school but i took a break from studying to have dinner at a cozy lil joint, Scotchies, recently because i was craving some good authentic jerk pork. Jerk foods is one of our island favourites (yes, that's how we spell favourite here). It was sooooooooo good! Yum!

The Scotchies i dined at is located on 2 Chelsea Avenue in Kingston but there are also two (2) other locations on the North Coast, in Montego Bay & Ocho Rios. I was in a hurry so i did not get a chance to take a picture of the venue but it was aesthetically pleasing, alot of greenery and wooden benches and thatch huts. The next time i visit i will ensure i take some pics to show you! :)

So i ordered the Jerk Pork with festivals

while my lil sis had Jerk Chicken.

So the next time you visit stop by and try some authentic Jamaican Jerk from Scotchies!

A Run With The Prince

Hey World!

So today Britain's Prince Harry visited the University of the West Indies (UWI), Mona, in honour of his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II as she celebrates 60 years on the throne. While at the University he got a chance to tour the newly built Law Faculty, here on the Mona campus, as well as to "run" and talk with the fastest man in the world, Usain Bolt! That was indeed fun to watch:)

Bolt had this to say about meeting the Prince:

"He's cool, very down to earth. When you meet dignitaries you think it will be difficult but he just wanted to laugh - it was an honour and a pleasure to meet him. I'm still the fastest man in the world so he has a long way to go."

However on a serious note, Harry's visit comes on the heel of the Prime Minister Portia Simpson-Miller, stating that it is now time for Jamaica to chart a new path and replace the Queen as Head of State. So later today (Tuesday, March 6, 2012) Prince Harry is set to meet with our Prime Minister to possibly discuss this and other issues as it relates to the relationship between the Jamaica and Britain and going forward.

Anyways guys, enjoy the rest of your day, i gotta get back to class!:)
